Ballyvaughan overcame Corofin in a tight Division 3 game played in Ballyvaughan on Sunday.
 
Corofin played with the strong wind in the first half, but didn't make this count as Ballyvaughan led by 3points to 2 at half time. Points from Raymond Casey (1) Kevin Carrucan (1) and John McCormack (1) for the home team to a brace of frees from Colm Clancy for Corofin.
 
The second half was similar to the first with chances at a premium. Corofin battled to the end but Ballyvaughan had to much on the day. Good points from Tomas Francis (2)  James Hynes (2)  Raymond Casey (1)  Diarmuid Greene (1) and Kevin Carrucan (1) brought Ballyvaughan's total to 10 points. Corofin relied on Colm Clancy for most of their scores.
 
This defeat relegates Corofin to Division 4 for next year. Ballyvaughan go into the semi-final as group winners.
