Wolftones just proved too strong for the north clare amalgamation of St Breckan's / Ballyvaughan in this final of the 2009 county U12 A football championship played at Pairc Naomh Mhuire Quilty on the 24th of June. The foundations for this 13 point victory were laid in the first half as Wolftones stormed to a 2:02  to 0:01 interval lead. Both goals were scored by full forward Ian Collins who finished the game on a top score of 3:01.

St Breckan's / Ballyvaughan goal keeper Conor Shannon was on hand regularly throughout the hour for which he pulled off a string off top class saves and Rowan Danaher was the player to get the two points, while all the St Breckan's / Ballyvaughan team worked hard the initial damage done by Ian Collins scoring two goals inside the first few minutes and a 2-02 to 0-01 interval lead was the foundation to claiming the U12A title for 2009. While any thoughts of a comeback was on the cards Wolftones kept the pressure on the St Breckan's / Ballyvaughan defence and earned more scores and while the clock was ticking down Ian Collins scored the third goal for Wolftones and he completed his hat-trick, effectively ending the game as a contest.
